The Poco F3 units intended for the European market are finally starting to see the rollout of a new software update, which Xiaomi dubs MIUI 12.5 Enhanced version/edition. This is one of those huge under-the-hood updates that doesn’t make a splash because of big new user-facing features, instead the point is that it improves a lot of the feel of using a device.

For the Poco F3 units in Europe, MIUI 12.5 Enhanced arrives as version 12.5.6.0(RKHEUXM). It’s a 466MB download coming from the previous version, and after installing it you’ll be on the August 1 2021 security update level, which is rather sad in October but unfortunately pretty much par for the course in Xiaomi and Poco land.

The changelog is positively huge so we won’t reiterate it all here, instead you can check out the screenshots above if you’re interested in every single item on the list. The main philosophy behind MIUI 12.5 Enhanced is made up of four parts. “Swift performance” with better battery life, “focused performance” with new algorithms dynamically allocating system resources based on usage, ensuring a smooth experience, “atomized memory” which is an ultra-fine memory management mechanism for more efficient RAM usage, and “liquid storage” mechanisms that will “keep your system vibrant and responsive as time goes by”.

As we mentioned before, there are a ton of behind the scenes improvements and optimizations, but you also get a bunch of bug fixes too. Basically this Enhanced edition isn’t supposed to introduce any new features, instead it makes the ones you have already work much better – smoother and (hopefully) bug-free.

After a few hours of running the new software, we can definitely say our Poco F3 feels a bit more responsive and fluid in operation, and we haven’t spotted any issues so far. Those may still occur, of course, and the feeling of improved smoothness could just be our wishful thinking. So let us know what you think in the comments, if you’re running MIUI 12.5 Enhanced on your device.
